Instructions
1. Remove the plastic shroud or collar from sorrounding the steering column. Use a small screwdriver or star bit to remove the screws from underneath the steering column.
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable clamp from the negative battery post, using a 3/8 drive ratchet and socket. Secure the cable so that it cannot inadvertently come into contact with anything.
Changing the ignition lock cylinder in a 1997 Chevrolet Blazer is a dense still rewarding project. 7. Reattach the wiring harness to the new lock cylinder.
8. Turn the key to ensure that the ignition lock cylinder is not bound up and is installed correctly. The new lock cylinder will come with a new ignition key.
9. Reinstall the steering column collar. Reattach the negative battery cable.
