Replace A Clutch On The John Deere

The electric clutch on a John Deere riding Hay-maker controls the Hay-maker blades. When the PTO switch is turn to the ON position, it sends a 12-volt electrical in fashion to the clutch under the engine, it engages a brake, then turning the region on the Hay-maker deck allowing the blades to turn. When the electric clutch malfunctions, the blades Testament no longer turn and replacement of the clutch is required. This procedure Testament catching 20 minutes to faultless.


Instructions


1. Allot the Hay-maker on a flush surface, fix the parking brake and remove the fundamental from the ignition. Disconnect the contradiction cable from the battery display with the 10 mm wrench.


2. Disconnect the wire on the prerrogative side of the electric PTO clutch, from the wiring harness. Clutch the engine from spinning by placing the 35 mm wrench on the Apartment lodgings side of the washer directly above the bolt holding the clutch to the crankshaft. Remove the bolt with 5/8-inch wrench, slide gone the bolt and washer.5.


3. Berth the jack under the front of the frame and lift the Hay-maker off the ground, slide the jack stands under Everyone side of the frame, in front of the wheels. Lower the jack until the frame of the Hay-maker is resting on the jack stands.


4. Slide the Hay-maker cestuses off the PTO clutch with your participation. Set the draft rod meeting that holds the front of the Hay-maker deck to the frame, it is under the muffler at the front of the frame. Pull outside the handgrip on the draft rod meeting and push down to loosen, remove the draft rod meeting.


Utilize the multi-purpose grease to the engine crankshaft before installing the advanced clutch. Install the distinct clutch making sure the slot on the clutch slides into the pin coming down from the frame, ensure the fixed key in the clutch slides over the crankshaft keyway.


6. Install the washer with the concave side up towards the clutch. Reinstall the clutch bolt and tighten to 55 foot-pounds of torque. Reconnect the clutch connector from the wiring harness into the side of the clutch. Lower the machine back to the ground, reinstall draft rod assembly, and reinstall the negative lead to the battery.
