Replace Rear Disc Brakes Inside A Nissan Sentra

The Nissan Sentra may acquire either CD or drum brakes in the rear of the van. Secure it by tightening the pin bolts between 28 to 38 ft. lb.5. Reattach the wheels and lower the vehicle to the ground, and then bleed the brake system if necessary.



1. Lift the rear of the vehicle off the ground using a van jack. Balance the vehicle on all sides to prevent it from tipping. Direct children and animals outside of the vicinity while replacing the rear disc brakes on your Sentra.


2. Disconnect the parking brake cable bracket bolt. Remove the pin bolts and proceeds off the oppose of the caliper. Slide out the pad springs, brake pads and shims.


3. Rotate the piston clockwise with needle nose pliers until it retreats back into the caliper body. Lubricate the area of the mounting support that touches the brake pad using silicone based grease.


4. Replace the pads, shims and retainer springs with the new ones. Lay the caliper body on the mounting support. CD brakes are regular due to their efficient stopping effectiveness and support with which you can change them.
