Lower Leaf Springs Inside A Nissan Pickup

Instructions

Raise the axle with a jack until the axle separates from the leaf springs.4. Position a lowering block between the leaf springs and axle. Align the tab on the block so it goes into the hole on the top leaf spring. Remove the U-bolts. Remove the lower plate. Repeat on the pickup's other side.


3.2. Remove the backside and top shock mounting bolts with a socket wrench. Remove the shock. Remove the nuts from the ends of the U-bolts with a socket wrench.


Repeat with the other side of the pickup.


5. Lower the jack slowly until the axle fully rests on the lowering blocks. Slide the U-bolts into position, attach the lower plate, and tighten the nuts to 80 foot-pounds with a torque wrench. Repeat on the pickup's other side.


6. Reattach the shocks, and secure them with a socket wrench. Remove the jack stands, and lower the vehicle.
