10. Drill from the top of the hood onto the masking tape side, using the drill and drill bits. Step up to progressively larger sizes until you get to a bit two steps larger than the hood pin.
11. Lower the hood onto the hood pin, and make sure the holes align. You may need to open the holes a little bit in order to get clearance; to do so, drill another step higher, using the drill and drill bits.
12. Shut the hood all the way and place the hood pin shield onto the hood. Mark the holes in the hood pin shield onto the masking tape, using the permanent marker.
13. Remove the hood pin shield and drill holes into the hood where you marked them from the shield. The hole should be the same diameter as the rivets.
14. Remove the masking tape from the hood and place the hood pin shield onto the hood.
15. Place the rivets through the hood pin shield and into the holes on the hood. Place the rivet gun onto the rivets and pull them tight to secure the hood pin shield to the hood.
16. Open the hood and unbolt the factory hood latch, using the 3/8-inch ratchet and sockets. Disconnect the hood release wire, using the flathead screwdriver.
17.Shut the hood and place the retaining pin through the hood pin to secure the hood.
