7. Sand the primer coat when it has dried thoroughly. Use 400 grit sandpaper to score the primer so the paint can adhere to the surface. Wipe the entire car with a damp towel to remove sanding dust.
8. Spray the garage floor or pavement with a water hose to wet any dirt or debris. Make sure there are no bugs or debris in the area. Mix the paint using a stir stick and pour it into the paint gun. Use a painting screen to remove large paint chunks when pouring. Place the lid on the paint gun, and turn on the air compressor.
9. Paint the vehicle using broad strokes from left to right. Distance your paint gun approximately ten inches away from the car at all times. Release the paint trigger at the edges when painting to avoid drips at the edge. Add another coat if necessary using the same steps. Allow the paint to dry before driving.
