The starter in the 2001 Cadillac DeVille mounts to the transmission housing on the lower Chauffeur's side of the engine. This makes changing the starter and easier chore being you complete not keep to remove any accessories or brackets to arrive the bolts.


Instructions


1. Guide the DeVille onto a locate of ramps so you hog easier access to the backside of the vehicle. Secure the parking cleft for safety.


Connect the wiring harness that connects to the starter solenoid by pushing it onto the connector bolted to the solenoid on the replacement starter.7. Secure the contemporary starter to the transmission housing with the three bolts formerly removed.


Remove the bolt that secures the copious starter wire to the back of the starter with a socket and ratchet.


4. Remove the three bolts that secure the starter to the transmission housing with an adjustable wrench. Pull the starter off the transmission housing.


5. Disconnect the wiring harness that connects to the starter solenoid by pulling it off the connector bolted to the solenoid.


6.2. Disconnect the balky battery cable with a socket and a ratchet.3.



8. Bolt the starter wire to the back of the starter with the bolt formerly removed.


9. Reconnect the rejection battery cable to the battery.
