Instructions
1. Wash your windshield. Use a glass cleaner that will not streak to remove all surface dirt from your windshield.Use masking tape on the inside of the windshield to outline both sides of the marred area. Also, tape off any painted areas near the repair sight so that polishing compound does not get onto it.
3. Mix the compound. Your polishing kit contains a mildly abrasive polishing compound that needs to be mixed with warm water. The amount of water varies depending on the kit, so follow the instructions carefully. The kit also comes with a felt polishing wheel, which you should soak in warm water before using.
4. Apply the compound to the scratch. First, put some warm water over the taped area and then apply the compound using the applicator in your kit. Make sure to smooth the compound onto the glass in an even coat.
5. Polish the windshield. Attach your polishing wheel to your handheld drill and set it at around 400 rpm. Use a slight amount of pressure on the wheel, as you work in a side-to-side motion inside the taped area.
6. Clean the repaired area. Using a sponge and warm water wash the all compound from the windshield. Use a microfiber cloth to dry the surface and inspect the results. If you are not satisfied, repeat the process again.
