Loosen the bolt with a distributor wrench, then turn the engine on. Point the timing light at the harmonic balancer and pull the light's trigger to clarify; to light up the chalk mark. Twist the distributor while watching the illuminated chalk mark. The mark will move as the distributor is twisted. Twist the distributor until the mark aligns with the tip of the timing pointer. The engine is now timed. Turn the engine off and tighten the distributor's bolt with the distributor wrench, then reconnect the vacuum line to the distributor.
