8. Place the new gasket on the thermostat housing and place the thermostat inside the housing with the air release valve pointing upward. Remove the bad battery cable using a wrench. Isolate the battery cable from the terminal while you bullwork.2. Remove the air cleaner duct hose from the throttle entity and the air cleaner.


Install the air cleaner duct hose to the throttle body and the air cleaner. The hose should simply slide onto the mounting point.


10. Check the radiator drain plug to be sure it is tight then refill your Explorer with a 50/50 mix of anti-freeze and water.


11. Run the engine at idle until it reaches normal operating temperature. Check the system for leaks and make sure that the thermostat is regulating the engine temperature properly.
