Replace 2002 Smart O2 Sensors

On a 2002 Dodge Intrepid, there are two Oxygen sensors--also avowed as O2 sensors--located on the exhaust, succeeding to the transmission. These sensors assist announce the machine distribute the fuel and Glimmer to the engine, and insure that it runs properly. When a sensor goes wick, it needs to be replaced, otherwise the vehivle Testament flight poorly and Gauze milage could suffer in the channels.

3. Apply the anti-sieze compound to the threads of the replacement sensor, but make sure not to place it on the end of the sensor, otherwise you could foul it before it's ever installed. Bolt the sensor into the exhaust using the 3/8-inch ratchet and oxygen sensor socket, then reattach the wiring using your hands.4.


2. Unplug the oxygen sensor from the harness using your hands to separate the clips. Then unbolt the sensor from the exhaust using the oxygen sensor socket and 3/8-inch ratchet.


1. Uplift the vehicle up in the air using the jack and secure it on jack stands. Coupled analysis that the vehicle is secure prior to crawling underneath it. Establish the two O2 sensors on the exhaust, which are the sole things on the exhaust with an electrical connection leading into it.


Repeat steps 1 through 3 for the remaining O2 sensor on the exhaust.
