Install An Amplifier Energy Wire On The Side Terminal Battery

Your amp cannot competence these speakers until you figure gone attach the force wire to your side post battery.

7. Loosen the nut holding the battery cable to the fuse block, place the eye connector over the stud and tighten the nut until it is snug. You just need the right instructions and a few tips on finding this alternate power source.

Instructions

1. Locate the positive cable of the battery. It will be the red cable and usually has several other wires running into it.

2. Trace that wire back to the main fuse block. This will be under the hood and have a lot of fuses and relays in it.

3. Locate where the battery cable runs into the fuse block. This is typically underneath the front of the block.

4. Verify there are 12 volts of power coming from the wire using a multimeter.

5. Match up an eye-type connector with the stud that the battery cable connects to on the fuse block.

6. Strip off 1/2 inch of insulation from the power wire using wire strippers and crimp on the eye connector.

When installing an aftermarket amp, you may come across one minor problem. A side post battery has nowhere to mount your power wire to. You do not necessarily need to mount the power wire directly to the battery. There are alternate mounting positions that will give you the proper amount of voltage you need to run your amp.
