To interchange the front blinker on your 1997 GMC Sonoma, you must remove the headlamp meeting in method to access the front blinker bulbs. Depending on the example of your Sonoma, you may either keep the front blinkers contained within the headlamp meeting or in their own seperate meeting located below the headlamp meeting. The 1997 Sonoma uses 3157NA bulbs for its front blinkers, which can be bought at any automotive supplies store.

One-Piece Composite Headlamp System
2. Remove the two atramentous retaining clips from the headlamp meeting. Pull the meeting elsewhere of the vehicle, and unplug the electrical connector from the rear of the meeting.
1. Remove the keys from the ignition of the vehicle. Elevate the hood.
3. Twist the front blinker bulb socket counterclockwise to remove it from the meeting. The front blinker bulb socket is the smallest socket on the headlamp meeting.
4. Pull the bulb straight absent to remove it from the socket. Avail a Disinfected cloth to push the replacement bulb into the socket, and apartment the socket back into the meeting. Rotate the socket clockwise to secure it to the meeting.
5. Plug the electrical connector back into the rear of the meeting. and habitat the meeting into the vehicle. Reattach the two retaining clips to the meeting, and hurried the hood.

6. Remove the keys from the ignition of the vehicle. Hoist the hood.
7. Remove the two jet retaining clips from the headlamp meeting. Pull the meeting gone of the vehicle, and unplug the electrical connector from the rear of the meeting.
8. Squeeze the two locking tabs on the turn-signal meeting, and swing the meeting away of the vehicle. Unplug the electrical connector from the rear of the turn vocable meeting.
9. Rotate the harness bulb socket counterclockwise to remove it. Pull the old bulb straight out, and use a clean cloth to push in the replacement bulb until it snaps into place. Rotate the harness bulb socket clockwise to secure it to the assembly, and reattach the electrical connector. Snap the turn signal assembly back into the vehicle.
10. Reconnect the electrical connector to the headlamp assembly, and place it back into the vehicle. Reattach the two retaining clips, and close the hood.
