Remove A High Radiator Hose Inside A 2001 Taurus

Ford offered the 2001 Taurus with three variations of their 3.0-liter V-6 engine. The two leading variations are the DOHC and OHV engines. Another variation is the Flex Fuel OHV, which allows the 3.0-liter to race on ethanol fuel very as average unleaded petrol. Regardless of which engine, the Taurus needs a cooling operation to remove heat from the engine block so it doesn't sieze. Emigration of the upper radiator hose is cardinal for accessing the thermostat housing on the two OHV engines. Convert the hose provided post-removal inspection reveals it's spongy or deteriorating.

Instructions

1. Hoist the hood on the Taurus. Provided it's a worm coerce clamp, application a screwdriver.3. Tear the seal the upper radiator hose has on the radiator connexion by sliding the gratuity of the screwdriver between the hose and the radiator connexion carefully.

Slide a void pan under the engine until it rests directly below the upper radiator hose to radiator connexion.2. Loosen the hose clamp on the upper radiator hose at the radiator purpose. Provided the hose yet has the mill compression clamp, you'll call for arc Seam pliers.

Pull the hose off the radiator and point the hose speck down at the void pan so the coolant runs into the pan.

4. Loosen the hose clamp at the other extremity of the hose in the corresponding way you employed for the fundamental clamp. Gap the seal of the hose to the engine connexion with the screwdriver. Pull the senescent radiator hose off the engine.

5. Slide a latest hose clamp over Everyone stop of the new radiator hose. Slide the hose over the engine coupling. Slide the other end onto the radiator connection.

6. Tighten both hose clamps until the rubber distends through the slots in the clamp enough to rise flush with the outside of the clamp.

7. Open the coolant overflow tank and pour in a 50-50 mixture of Ford coolant and distilled water until the coolant level rises to the "Cold Fill" line. Start the engine, turn the heater on full and run the engine until it reaches operating temperature, checking the hose connections for leaks.

8. Top the coolant off with coolant and distilled water once more, if necessary. Close the coolant overflow tank and hood. Recheck the coolant level and top off as necessary after 50 miles of driving.
