Install a window regulator in a Chrysler automobile.
Influence windows are pdq sample features on cars. A accepted determinant of a malfunctioning authority window is the window regulator, which maintains the movement of the window buttoned up the door panel. Replacing a regulator in a Chrysler window is simple enough to do yourself with only a little auto knowledge.
Instructions
1.14. Reconnect the interior door light wires to the back of the door panel cover and press the door panel back onto the door.15.
2. Lay the door panel removal tool along the edge of the window control plate. Use a flat head screwdriver to wedge in between the tool and the plate until it is free of the door panel.
3. Disconnect the electrical clips holding the window plate into the door by squeezing the clips and pulling the wires apart.
4. Pry the door off with the removal tool until it comes loose and you can disconnect the wires running to the light on the inside of the door.
5. Reconnect the window controls to the wiring and lower the window. You should be able to see the mechanism holding the window in place through the service panel on the bottom of the door.
6. Open the panel holding the glass in place by releasing the nuts. You will now be able to push the glass off the regulator. Lower the glass so it is resting inside the door panel on the floor.
7. Remove the old regulator through the service panel. There is a small clip just below the mounting bolts on the regulator that is holding the head of the feed tape in place. Pull this clip until it is free of the regulator to release the tape.
8. Pull the old tape out. This is tape that feeds the regulator to move the window up and down. Measure your new tape against the old one and cut it to the correct length with diagonal cutters.
9. Insert the new feed tape into the top of the door panel starting with the end that looks like an eye. Make sure the teeth of the tape are facing out, towards the frame of the door panel.
10. Slide the feeder tape along the track inside the door panel until the eyelet end of the tape is visible through the service panel.
11. Place the new regulator over the eyelet of the tape. Secure it in place with the clip that came with the new regulator.
12. Lift the window off the floor of the door panel and slide it back into the mounting brace of the regulator. Secure the window by tightening the bolts on the regulator.
13. Remove the window controls from the wiring.
Remove the door panel by detaching the the door handle and control switches. Unscrew the screw holding the door handle in place using a Phillip's head screwdriver. Then lift the door handle and the control switches from the door and set them aside.
Wire the window control panel to the electric wiring in the door and snap it into its place on the door panel.
16. Screw the door handle plate back in place.
