Replace A Chevrolet Metro Fuel Filter

The fuel filter in a Chevy Metro cleans the fuel before it enters the fuel injection process. This keeps contaminants gone of the fuel system and minimizes damage to the engine. Cheap fuel, differing additives and corrosion caused by condensation inside the Gauze container can all chore to collapse the efficiency of the fuel filter. Over age, this filter will be remodelled clogged. The fuel filter will be located near the fuel rail and injection system.3. Loosen and remove the service bolts and underlying banjo bolts on the top of the filter by turning them counterclockwise with a socket wrench.4.



Depressurize the fuel system. Pull the fuse for the fuel pump and start the Metro. Wait for the Metro to stall. The fuel system has now been depressurized.


2. Open the hood and locate the fuel filter on the back of the engine bay on the firewall. Symptoms of a failing fuel filter are stalling or hesitation when you method on the Gauze pedal. When this happens, it's interval to exchange the fuel filter in your Chevy Metro.

Disconnect the fittings that are attached to the fuel filter.


5. Remove the retaining clamp by turning the retaining bolt counterclockwise and removing the bolt.


6. Install the new filter. Installation is the reverse of removal.
