Provided you get a vehicle with a 2.5L, 4.0L or 4.2L engine, you Testament compulsion to remove and reinstall the intake manifold as thing of the exhaust manifold replacement.

Instructions

1. Disconnect the battery denying cable using pliers to prevent inadvertent airbag deployment.

2. Prepare the vehicle for the replacement of the exhaust manifold by removing the intake manifold whether you corner a 2.5L, 4.0L and 4.2 L engine. (Touch to the Funds or other Jeep Wrangler repair books for instructions on remove and interchange the intake manifold.) Prepare a 2.4L-engine equipped vehicle by using a jack to abode the front axle up on jackstands.

3. Spray the bolts that connect the exhaust manifold to the engine and to the exhaust main with penetrating oil. Remove the bolts and nuts that Celebrate the exhaust pipe to the exhaust manifold using socket wrenches.

Lower the front stop of the 2.4L-engine equipped vehicle to the ground.

4. Remove the air filter housing bracket and the exhaust manifold heat shield on a 2.4L engine using socket wrenches.

Disconnect the wiring harness from the O2 sensor with your plam on a four-cylinder engine. Remove the O2 sensor using an open-ended wrench.

Connect the exhaust tube to the exhaust manifold (any engine) and ability tighten the attaching hardware.8. Torque the exhaust manifold bolts (2.4L engine) to 200 inch-pounds using a torque wrench. Communication: Open at the centre and moderate tightening the bolts absent to the ends. Remove the exhaust manifold gasket and Disinfected any residue from the mating surface on the cylinder mind.

6. Reinstall the O2 sensor on the advanced exhaust manifold (four-cylinder engine) using a current O2 sensor gasket.

Install the advanced exhaust manifold on the engine using a different exhaust manifold gasket. Reinstall the attaching hardware and help tighten the bolts or nuts.
