Replace Gmc Brake Rotors

The rotor slides off the hub meeting, after the caliper and brake pads are removed.

Instructions


1. Make safe the Motor lorry is parked on a flush surface. Locate the parking brake, and chock the back shove.


2. Loosen the lug nuts on the front wheels with a tire item. Cook not remove the lug nuts, until the Motor lorry is raised off the ground.


3. Berth a jack under the cross member of the front of the Motor lorry. Stand the Motor lorry grand Sufficiently to dwelling the jack stands under the front crossmember. Lower the Motor lorry on to the jack stands.


4. Remove the lug nuts from the shove. Catching the revolve off, and habitat it to the side.


5. Fix the caliper, resting on the top of the rotor. Loosen the bolts at the back of the caliper with a socket wrench. Pull the caliper off the back of the rotor, by share, after the bolts are removed.


6. Pull the brake pads gone of the holder by fist. Unbolt the brake pad holder with a socket wrench. Pull the holder off the rotor.


7. Pull the rotor off the hub meeting by participation. Tapping the rotor with a hammer Testament loosen it, if it is stubborn.


14. Double check all the lug nuts, to ensure they are all tight. Check both wheels.15.


Bolt the brake pad holder over the rotor with a socket wrench. Insert the brake pads onto the holder.


10. Rest the caliper over the brake pad holder. Tighten the bolts with a socket wrench, to secure it in place.


11. Place the wheel back on to the axle. Repeat steps to replace the remaining rotor.


12. Tighten the wheels, by tightening the lug nuts with a tire tool. Tighten them in a crisscross pattern, to ensure the wheel is tightened correctly.


13. Raise the truck, and remove the jack stands. Lower the truck to the ground.


8. Slide the new rotor on to the hub assembly. The rotor will rest on the studs.9.


Test drive the truck, to ensure the truck brakes smoothly and without any vibrations.
